  • How many guests will the chapel hold?
    Old Center Chapel, our white wedding chapel on the estate, was built to accommodate 100 seated guests plus wedding party inside. We've have hosting capacity of with 20 – 300 guests by also offering outdoor garden weddings or tented events as requested. Our secluded 56+ acre estate allows for intimate and extravagant guest counts.
  • Do you accommodate tented events?
    Yes. Besides our Old Center Chapel wedding ceremonies, we have landscaped areas, gardens, and spaces dedicated for tents or sheltered events. In your wedding consultation, we will review all of your options on how to use our spaces on your special day.
  • How are you different than other venues?
    The Canopy boasts a rich history that becomes part of your story. We pride ourselves on offering genuinely unique, one-of-a-kind weddings that leave lasting memories for you and your guests with several on site packages for lodging and celebrations.
  • Do you have my date available?
    Please contact us to discuss availability at The Canopy. In addition, we recommend securing your date by booking with us at least six months to a year in advance.
  • Do you allow pets in the wedding party at The Canopy?
    Yes. Your pets are welcome to be on the property and at your wedding party at The Canopy. We do ask that your pets are leashed at all times and have an assigned caretaker during your special day.
  • Can I tour The Canopy before booking the event?
    We would love to give you a private tour of our estate with a scheduled appointment.
  • Do I need a wedding planner or an event coordinator to book an event here?
    For full day weddings we request that you have a wedding planner or at least a day of coordinator. Weddings have many moving parts and a complicated timeline without a coordinator you risk your special day having issues. Many times a coordinator or planner will save you much more than their fee. Coordinators are not an expensive option and you will be glad you have one!
  • Do you have a plan for outdoor events if it rains?
    In the event of rain, we will accommodate you and your guests as needed. This may include going into a dedicated indoor spaces within Old Center Chapel or Osage Hall. You may also want to have a tent set up to meet your guest count needs.
  • Is there lodging nearby the estate for our guests?
    Away from the hustle and bustle of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, The Canopy is about 30 minutes from excellent hotels and resort options with shuttle services. Beyond our on-site there are multiple vacation AirBNB rentals near Whitesboro, TX.
  • Do you have any lodging on site?
    Yes we have 2 options Estate Guest House - can host max of 6 guests Estate Main Wedding House - can host max of 10 guests
  • Can I bring my pets to stay with us at Guest or Wedding House?
    We allow well-behaved, house-trained dogs at The Canopy.
  • When can I check in at Guest or Wedding House? When do I need to check out?
    Generally, the check-in time at Guest or Main House is 4:00 p.m. The check-out time is 11:00 a.m. unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
  • Do you provide firewood at Gues House or Wedding House?
    Yes, we provide wood enough for one fire. Any additional firewood you may need will be available for a fee.
  • While we are staying at The Canopy, where are we allowed to explore on the grounds of the estate?
    The front creek and pond area is is yours to explore. Beyond the pond is available to tour by appointment only.
  • Do your host other events on the estate besides weddings?
    The Canopy can accommodate guests in many different ways. We love offering the estate for bridal luncheons, corporate retreats, rehearsal dinners, and private parties.
  • Can we bring in our own vendors for our event?
    Yes, we feel every event should be unique. With outside vendors, we believe you should be able to curate your event the way you want it. We welcome all professional, licensed, and insured vendors. We also offer a list of preferred vendors to our clients.
  • Can I have a photoshoot on your property?
    Styled photo shoot requests are granted in advance and depending on availability. There are many different outdoor photo opportunities here at The Canopy such as senior pictures, family photo shoots, holiday pictures, bridal portraits, engagement sessions, and wedding photography. Gardens, a log tree swing, a pond, bridges in wooded areas, rustic barns, and more can provide picturesque Texas backdrops for your photographs.
  • Do you allow fireworks on your property?
    The Canopy is a fireworks-friendly venue. If you would like to have fireworks set off at your event, there are local fireworks vendors in our area that can provide you with a professional, high-quality fireworks display.
  • Do you offer sleigh rides in the winter?
    On the rare occasion of snowfall at The Canopy during your event, we can bring out our traditional sleigh as a stationary prop to use for photographic purposes. The sleigh is not available for rides at this time.
